It’s also known as marijuana.

Given the words cannabis, and cannabidiol sound similar and can refer to similar plants, it can be very easy to mistake one with another. In this article, we will discuss the differences between substances and what they could do to benefit you.

What is the difference between cannabidol and cannabis?

The cannabis family of plants has been used for centuries to treat a variety of health problems, from pain and anxiety to insomnia and even cancer. It’s also been touted as the future of medicine as a natural anti-inflammatory, anticonvulsant and antioxidant.

One plant in this family, the hemp plant covers all those bases. It contains CBD – a compound found in cannabis that provides a wide range of health benefits. The cannabis plant that is used to make marijuana does contain CBD but also has THC which has psychoactive properties.

Cannabis and marijuana are interchangeably used to refer to the same thing: the resin of the female cannabis plant, commonly known as marijuana. However, they are not exactly the same thing. Marijuana is the dried leaves and flowers of the female cannabis plant. Cannabis is the potent resin (oil) produced by the female cannabis plant. Cannabis is a greenish-gray or brown mixture of flowers, leaves, stems, and seeds from the female cannabis plant. It can include the resins, the THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), and CBD (cannabidiol) found in the resin.

The main difference between CBD and marijuana is that the latter has psychoactive properties and is often limited to medical use only. CBD isn’t psychoactive and often does not need prior medical authorization in order to be bought and used in many countries around the world.

It is currently a widely held belief that marijuana (hemp), or cannabis, has a lot of medicinal benefits, but that’s not entirely true. Hemp itself does not contain psychoactive properties, meaning it won’t get you high. On the other hand, the cannabis plant, also known as cannabis Sativa, is a type of hemp. That’s where the psychoactive properties come from. People who use CBD oil and cannabis for medical use are often unaware that they are taking a synthetic substance but very different from the original, plant-based cannabinoid. For this reason, a lot of confusion and misinformation is generated about the uses, benefits, and risks of CBD oil. Unlike oil extracts which are taken orally, cannabis oil is usually taken directly through the skin. This can be done through the Dabbing method, which utilizes a nail device for heating and vaporizing the oil within the dab cartridge; or through the Hot-Wax method, which utilizes a dab cartridge filled with a wax-like substance and heated to create vaporized oil. If you’re new to dabbing, it’s not necessarily the best way to go unless you’re extremely experienced.
